Description

Get the professional & minimalist look with the Acrylic Surfboard Wall Rack.  This rack not only keeps the focus on your actual surfboard as a work of art, but also gives the 'floating' look with no visible parts of the rack, as it's entirely made of clear components.  Chosen by professionals, for using in high-end retail spaces or restaurants that want a bit of a 'surfer vibe', this rack is made in a US based facility.  The acrylic and craftsmanship of this rack is so strong it has been rated to hold boards up 50lbs, so you can feel free putting pretty much anything in your quiver of surfboards, or even most longboards (please be sure to weigh appropriately and use common sense before adding any board to a wall rack.)

This is an upward facing rack, which can either showcase and display the deck (top), or bottom of the surf board.  This is particularly useful for when trying to fill a void, or wall gap in a lower location of a wall or over a stairwell.  This rack can also work as an everyday storage system for your surfboards, being it also has clear padding included, which helps keep the surfboard's glass job in-tact, and prevents dings.

All mounting hardware & instructions are included.  We do recommend putting these into studs, but is not necessary, if drywall anchors are installed correctly.  Questions or concerns?  Call us at the number at the top left of this screen anytime, or email us direclty at info@epicsurfracks.com.  Someone will get right with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Ask a Question
  • Hello! I'm an interior designer in California decorating a beach home for my client. We'd like to use the Clear Acrylic Surfboard Wall Rack | Angled Up product for our project and are installing blocking behind the drywall currently. Can you tell me how far apart I should place these mounts for a 6' board?

Regarding spacing of where to align the racks with the board can vary depending on the shape and rocker of the actual surfboard.  With that being said a good rule of thumb is around ~1/3 in from each end point of the surfboard.

The real priority here is mounting the surfboard rack directly to the studs in the wall as this will provide the most rigidity/stability.  Determining where the client wants the board located in the room in question, finding the respective studs for this location, and then making sure the surf racks are spaced out enough so that the board will not teeter would be a good order of operations.

One thing to note: Most of the time we want the surfboard exactly level to the floor and not the racks themselves (often determined by the surfboard stringer, or wooden line in the middle of the board, on most, but not all surfboards).  So, with taking the surfboard shape and outline into consideration you may find that the racks themselves will not be level with the floor, as the surfboard shape will determine where the racks need to be installed in the vertical orientation.
Laying the board and racks out on the floor prior to installation should help get an understanding of how to vertically align the racks on the wall.

As far as blocking: I would refrain from mounting the racks directly to the blocking itself. Although, it may provide enough stability, the rack was not really designed for this, but rather to be mounted directly center to the vertical (load bearing) studs.

Gold standard for indoor surfboard display racks

Simply, these ARE the best indoor surfboard display racks. No, not cheap but worth every penny, to me, at least. I looked at a lot of them in various places and took a chance on these despite the price. Bingo.

It makes a very pretty decoration on the wall of the office

The only comment we have is we bought the rack designed for the larger fin but when mounting the board to the wall we still had to do fin out because when we leaned the board back, the find did not fit against the wall.
It was not a big deal. Both sides of the board were pretty. We just hung it fin out. This is an old board with a glassed on fin so it may be different in specs from the modern boards they make now. It makes a very pretty decoration on the wall of the office. And we LOVE that the mount is all but invisible.
